Just the same-there is a bit of snobbery about bread in this country-oops Socialist roots showing againimage

Quite happy with Kingsmill-such a plebimage

I used to like Mother's Pride, especially when fresh and soggy so it stuck to the roof of your moth! I've been here so long I don't understand what's snobby or not in England anymore. Perhaps just as well. Like people for themselves, stuff class.

Definitely not allowed to like white slice bread-despite the fact it is what most people buyimage-so many things have to be "good for you"image

Yes, Lizzie, I'm the old hag image  Left to my own devices I would have been more over the top!! I still have my Christmas hair. I had lots of red streaks which were supposedly semi permanent so they would fade and wash out. They haven't yet!

I've never much liked white stick-to-the-roof-of your-mouth-bread - or even the brown version of that. I like something a bit more substantial and less smooth. Sliced white makes great fried bread, though, and quite nice toast as long as it's thick enough.

Have been hunting the leak, can't find it but realised I have a rat or two in the loft image image  Let's hope they're not breeding too fast. Now need to wait for rain, pref. in daytime, and hire a rat-catcher. Deep joy.

Off to light the wood-burner, that will be a cheering thing.

I have just been told they are cooking the meal. Hmm, since it'll be me who clears up regardless, shouldnt worry, but.......

Because it's not been cold today, we allowed the heating to come on at the scheduled time & yep, whistling again, just as this morning & yesterday..... Have showed OH the advice Norm2 gave me. OH not impressed. image Well have told him to get in touch with big chief at company, since he, OH, was happy to takeover/muscle in on all the arrangements before when it wouldnt be him, OH, who was going to be inconvenienced. image

Somehow this is going to be down to me I think, later in week when am around to make a call, after I'ved nagged OH to no avail & started WW3! image J.

    Sorry to bore you Geoff!

Becks I thought so too, but apparently not......image

It's almost worse than having a toddler/baby wake up & demand attention. You can almost set your clock by it though, so although I shall set my alarm for tomorrow, I'll already have been woken about 5-10mins earlier........ oh & 2hrs earlier when OH leaves for work. J.
