I also hope that you are right about the slugs and last winter. I just don't understand why my fire and ice, winter snow and ninutman hostas are almost slug damage free.
maybe I should be grateful for that LOL. As my titanic and my blue Hawaiian are still growing .
Hi Anthony. I've missed all my hosta friends! I too was wondering where Hostafan had got to. I posted a photo of all my new hostas on a separate new thread quite a while ago but none of my hosta friends seemed to be around at the time. I'll comment on it so it brings it back up to the top so you can have a look, but I think they've grown quite a lot since I posted the photos.
I've found that the copper rings have worked well. Plus slug pellets on the outside of the copper rings for the belt and braces approach. So far so good. I can send you the link if you want.
I reposted the pictures of my hosta corner on the other thread last night. I think at the moment it's on page 2 of latest posts so you should be able to find it.
update to my hosta's my blue Hawaiian hosta has stopped growing and there is a hole in the middle after talking to bowdens they are sending out a new one will be with me on Wednesday. here is some pics of the others that are growing very well. PS my fire and ice is going to flower after thee years
Wow Anthony, your hostas are growing really well. About 3 of mine have flowered and I've left them but I'm sure I remember someone on this forum saying that we should cut off the flowers to give the plant a better chance to establish. I'll have a look to see if I can find it. The flowers are very pretty aren't they?
GirlFromBelgium, that's a beautiful hosta. How old is it?
