Monty told me to sow sweet peas in Autumn, so I did, and mine got to the same height as yours and I no longer had space for them in the greenhouse, so they got planted in a large tub about 3 weeks ago. They have been more than fine since. It could be my imagination but I think they've doubled in height in 3 weeks and they look very very healthy.
I'm in the West Midlands and we had a couple days last week where we had some chilly nights but other than that the weather has been very fine. I did find most people say that they are hardy enough to be planted out early, either way they couldn't take up that much space in the greenhouse any longer so I didn't have much choice!
They were also all different varieties from different suppliers and I haven't had one single one die on me, fingers crossed that is how it will stay!
Actually, forgot to mention, I'm a bit weird about killing things, I really want to cut down everything and make it pretty, but I can't, even if it's dead, I can't do it, so I just left my sweet peas from last year and moved them to a sheltered shady dumping area in the garden, anyway, those sweet peas are still going (thanks to the mild winter) and now are growing really really well, despite only having about five minutes (maybe an hour in reality) of direct sunshine a day...
Sounds like your Sweet Pea's are doing well and I bet that was a nice surprise to see last years doing well.
I planted mine out eventually today, just a bit later than planned lol Although thanks to the winds whilst they were hardening off only 3 of the Autumn sown ones survived So I now have a mix of Autumn & Spring sown ones, 3 autumn and 2 spring sown in the tub in the picture below. Although it will be interesting to see just how far behind the Spring ones will be in regards to flowering
I have 8 more Spring sown sweet please which I am planting out in smaller wigwams in another part of the garden and at the front.
I have just sewn some more and left them outside and hopefully they'll be o.k. My greenhouse got smashed in tip winter's storm so I can't have too many things indoors!
Your tub looks much prettier than mine, we have basically a bucket and chicken wire contraption set up (we had hoped to buy a house by now, and hope to very soon, so we had to plant them with what we had!), hoping the beauty of the sweet peas will distract!!
I've also put in some Jan sown ones with the Autumn sown ones in a different tub, also bit of an experiment to see if I can just leave it to later rather than argue with ones that get a bit big too quick!
I'm hoping I get super early flowers on the old ones I read somewhere on here someone got sweet peas flowering in Feb once, I'd like to know where they were in the country!
I have 16 different varieties of sweet peas going at the moment, I have a bit of a sweet pea problem, still I think it's better than some addictions!
Ok I have flowers coming on my dumped-in-a-shady-position sweet peas from last year! The other plants are coming along great too, can't wait for them all to flower!
I go a bit daft with sweet peas. Live in the windy NW highlands so start half off in Autumn and have my first flower out in the greenhouse already. I planted a dozen outside and they were stopped for a while but seem fine. The spring sown ones will be popped in all over the garden in a week. I like to keep two huge tubs in the greenhouse for early flowers and scent, and it brings the bees in. Won't sow anything that doesn't have a nice smell! I forgot to pinch them out but they're nice and vigorous.

Haha they are a beautiful flower though, I love them, although I managed to stop myself at 3 varieties this year but so wish I had done more lol
