Mrs Garden, here is a 'photo of Glam Rock ordered from a T.V..shopping  channel and delivered about a fortnight ago, they were planted straight into the tub with Tref compost and B.F.B., from the same channel and were covered with a cap of newspaper on the frosty nights,( the c.d. case is for comparison)

    Hope the 'photo shows o'k.

Look very healthy peter, would love to see a picture when they flower.image

  • Will post one when (and if).

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I've never grown "Hydies"  before, do they need "pinching out" at  all?

Not sure Peter, I've never had a small one. Maybe someone else will have a look in and help you out.

All I can find is this Peter, it is the last bit that talks about pinching out, but that's for cuttings and yours look bigger than cuttings.

I personally would leave them unless they look like they are getting leggy and not bushy and then maybe pinch the top, but I'm not an expert, although have grown my one. Hydrangea for longer than anything else I have image

I am going to take cuttings from mine at the end of the summer and see if I can make babies, never tried it before image
