Sue, I don't know your location, but if you live somewhere south and sheltered you may be able to grow a mimosa tree which has similar flowers, or there may be a variety of sailors Buttons that has similar flowers.
Thanks for that. I live in the North West. I actually do have what I call 'Bachelors Buttons'. I have seen the mimosa which is very similar but it was particularly the other that I liked although if it is very invasive I may be a bit shy of it. Do you know if it is invasive by way of it's routes or does it just seed down everywhere, in which case I could remove the flower heads before they go to seed. I intended to put it in my 'cut flower' garden for the house.
I put the Tansy in a border with everything else and really, really regretted it! Nice looking plant but keep it separate as the roots spread everywhere.
