Yes Philippa, I was a bit nervous at first as I thought people may get angry at me for asking so much stuff, but as soon as I saw how keen people were to identify plants, it made me feel more at ease.

Nutcutlet, once again you were correct. I haven't put up a picture yet of the syringa because it hasn't flowered yet, but there are little buds all over. I went to GC again today and saw it and remembered this time, is was the Syringa Meyeri 'Palibin' which you linked to. Thank you!

Any chance you could upload the photos to this site Jack rather than linkinig them. Any of us on works computers have sites like that blocked.
I'm not sure how Jim. When I first started on this forum I couldn't get it to work, that's why I went the photobucket route.
