Nutcutlet, you were right about No4 it is a Syringa, a pink one, just saw an identical plant in the garden centre. Thought oh, pink syringa that will be easy to remember and look up, but like an idiot I totally forgot the full name by the time I got home now can't find the exact one.
Ha!, not sure, it's hard to tell from those pictures. I just thought I'd let you know you were correct. I'll post a picture when it flowers, or next time I'm at the GC I'll let you know which one it is.
I think the Kerria may be called colloquially 'Sailor's Buttons'. I have never figured out why, I am sure there is not a Navy in the world where the sailors have bright yellow buttons.
