That sounds a fantastic assortment of plants - well done you. Regarding my idea, would your partner be able to drop the plants off to an address in Kendal instead of Haydock?
I'm doing really well at the moment, just collected 2 doz odd pots of peppermint, all beautifully labelled (from a lady appropriately called Eirlyss which is Welsh for snowdrop or snow lily) She uses a very fine poster paint pen which is indelible for labelling and they look very good. She also gave me some sisyrinchium.
Tomorrow night is our local Gardening Club so I'm going to ask them for plant donations and spare pots - hope I know what I'm doing!
Artjak, you had the brilliant idea in the first place so you deserve star billing!
Morning Rosie, hope work has quietened down a bit. I'm going frantic in the garden whilst we've got good weather here, but just going out to collect some more donated pots (combined with a Sainsbury's run - yawn - I'd much rather garden.
Was it on the forum that somebody quoted "God made rainy days so that gardeners could get the housework done" - I love that quote.
300 packets of seeds! Thats about 60,000 plants, if you can get 200 from a packet. Pleased to hear a garden centre is donating the soil.
How many houses were flooded, i can only glean from the internet that it was 150, couldnt just one person from the flood area come on the site, I am sure it would help with planting and collecting?

"Forget about the planet, save the garden". A brilliant quote from a novel by Colin Catterill.
In other words, do what you CAN DO; not what we would all WISH to do.
Gardenjeannie and Lizzie 27, you are doing such good work...I don't know what more I can say.
I am so impressed. Fabulous!

Afternoon Bump
Hi gardenjennie, just put a few packets of seeds in the post to you this morning. I found a stamp
Keep up the good work guys!
Lizzie, that is sooo true about housework; by the time I'm back in the house from the garden it is nearly dark, so don't notice the mess.
Spent 3 hours yesterday afternoon scouring out pots with disinfectant
Never want to see another pot again!
