That's gorgeous, Panda, is it usually this early? What sort is it?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Thanks image

Not sure what sort of rose it is Busy image I have a rose hedge (presume some kind of briar?) A google search indicates it might be "Rosa xanthina Canary Bird, a yellow flower shrub rose with clusters of flowers, fern-like foliage and arching thorny stems". The picture certainly looks like mine, and it does have a wonderful scent. It was there when we moved in image

I haven't seen it flower this early. When we moved in two July's ago I remember it was still flowering. Last year it flowered later than this year and didn't lt as long! With it starting to flower now I guess I'd better enjoy it now!

Wow so many gorgeous pics on here since I last looked,

Green fingered Mikey, don't forget to take before and progress photo's, it's inspiring to see what time and hard work can do.

Ecobaby, your garden is amazing, it just screams life and health, I have a small terraced house garden so very interested to see what can be achieved.

Busy-Lizzie, so looking forward to seeing your beautiful garden through the seasons.

Puncdoc very jealous, I have moist acid soil, shade and part shade, some himalayan poppy seeds and too much fear to even try!

Everyone else, Tray, Chicky, Panda - just gorgeous - keep them comingimage

Ok, if I've done it right (cant see the pics as I type), there should be 2 lots of 'triandrus' daffodils (been googlingimage), a rhodo that wants to be a daffodil, dying dafs with red robin and red wallflowers which was a lovely combination before it went over, and my 'in process' stickery (not really a stumpery, just home for Grumpy and Cheeky).

Ashleigh, I find the only way to get the seeds to germinate, is to give them a cold period. I sow mine in autumn and leave them in a cold greenhouse over winter. My last lot have just germinated, and will hopefully flower next year. i sow new seed every year, because I dont find them very long lived here.

You could trick them into thinking they had been over wintered, by sowing them and sticking them in the fridge for a couple of weeks.

You really should try as they are beautiful, and, you have ideal conditions.

How can you lie there and think of England
