you should never plant garlic in a greenhouse, they need at least 40 days of cold to make them separate into cloves, you should also break up into cloves as each clove becomes a bulb.
I stick mine in the ground (improved heavy clay soil) 5 inches apart and twice the cloves depth outside (in NE England) between Halloween and bonfire night and leave them to it, I mulch with a 1 inch layer of compost in March to control the weeds and lift them when half the leaves have gone brown.
