As always marion your photos are lovely. Thought you might like to see my Helleborus, just what we need to see on a dull January day to brighten things up.
Those hellebores are so lovely - pristine. I noticed my picotee ones are budding so i may be able to float a few in a bowl of water so we can see there markings next week when I am doing a lot of entertaining.
The parcel post arrived before I was up so the postman left the huge box on the picnic table at the back door as i had instructed and there it was - the bargain of the year which I had ordered fro Suttons January Sale as a present for my Jubilee Garden. Four willow planters with compost and bulbs to fill them to the brim at £20 the four. They are normally £20 each. It has taken me all morning but they are all planted up and watered and put in the dark under the spare room bed and the kitchen cleaned after I had recycled all the packing. Looking ahead I had ordered 70 plug plants of mixed Pelargniums which will come in February and be grown on to replace the bulbs when they come out to go in the spinney in May. They were beautiful healthy big bulbs, all sprouting of course and raring to go. Some had more than the allotted number of each kind in the packs so I was squealing "Another freebie" as I unpacked. What an exciting start to the gardening week!.
Got a bargain today, bought Red Baron Onion sets (300grams) from Home Bargains for just 99p, they had other varieties to choose from. My last lot of onions came from Home Bargains and I had a really good crop.
A lovely sunny day but a week of rain forecast so, in case I do not get a dry dayfor the rest of the month here is what I snapped on my walk up the garden this morning, Jan 23rd.
The last two i was peeping into the conservatory window.

Have done another basket of weeds and been out with my camera. My face feels sunburnt! Lovely smells from the Xmas box plants.

Wonderful
It is so lovely to see Pelagoniums in January; mine are in bud in the greenhouse.
