What a splendid day out you have had Marion, music, history and plants. I can imagime the scent of so many roses they are at their best at this time of year, so fresh.
I must thank you twice , once for sharing such an inspirational garden and, not least, for encouraging me to take photographs and post them. I have really got into the swing of things so watch out!
Here is a taster from Waterperry Gdns yesterday. I forgot to say the food in the cafe was excellent. i had a goats cheese quiche with six types of salad ( you were allowed to choose so i had a little of each as they all looked so delicious I could not make up my mind. Thoeroughly recommend their catering.).
Beautiful photographs Marion. Such stunning colour combinations. I'm not a fan of yellow but was struck by the lemony yellow lupins a foil for G. Johnsons blue, and those roses: red with the Achimilla Mollis the stone walls and oblisks really drew the eye and showed the flowers to an advantage.
That perfect yellow rose! Oh, it is so good to get out and see plants in a 'wider' setting, so to speak.
The lawns certainly set off the planting as in my garden however I'm liking the idea of a scree /alpine bed (photo4) , I haven't much space but sure one could go somewhere. Time to take a look around.
I've just read all 626 posts on this thread and couldn't just wander off without saying wow!
Your pictures are stunning and you clearly have so much passion for what you do. I live in Bristol too so when you speak about the weather, I know exactly what you mean because I've got it too
I'd love to see your garden! Mines been chocka with veg so we only have bedding plants this year, but next year we are having all flowers and zero veg, so you've given me lots of ideas
Lovely photo's as always Marion. Have you done the Chelsea chop on your sedums yet, the ones at Waterperry Gardens don't look to have been done, I'm still in doubt as far as mine are concerned.

My companion Cathy was delighted to find the tulip tree covered in its beautiful flowers. Mine has not opened its buds yet.
