I can recommended Peter Nyssen - Anglia bulbs and Lidl image you be lucky to get any from Lidl now they sell like hot cakes image.

The bulb size you can get from Anglia bulbs are excellent, a little bit dear than peter nyssen though, but excellent bulbs. Peter nyysen good for buying large quantity and have many variety's, I bought Irene parrot and Victoria secret tulips from PN I am going to plant them together.

I haven't planted any yet so if you want any pictures Wakeshine of size and quality I am happy to help.

Hi Perki okay please msg me pics of bulb sizes although they all seem quite similar i.e. 11-12cm? I will dash to lidl asap in the morning to see what's left lol!! I don't think they will have dreamland, innuendo, havran, Arabian mystery or happy generation but it's worth a try I guess. Also, I'm going away and not back until mid Nov - will the bulb planting be able to be delayed until then?

Yes all similar size,  11cm + for lidl and peter nyysen tulips I ve got are 11/12 or 12/13. Lidl premium quality bulbs have black labels normally priced £1.69 each or 2 for £3, its worth a look even if they dont have the variety's you want.

November perfect time for planting tulips.

Thanks for the measurements Perki. All the Wilko ones I got were 11/12.

Lidl were all sold out of bulbs yesterday...

I am having a not-so good experience with another 'guy' at the moment, not with spring bulbs though. Been going on for a while. But I will wait a few months and see how the situation pans out before posting on here.

  • No bulbs left in my Lidl, but they did have some lovely heather for 89p each - purple and white.

  • Kelways vs Claire Austin for bare root peonies - anyone had any experience with either of these vendors? I can't decide who to go with..image Latter is a tad cheaper so I may go with that but I heard Kelways are very established.

  • Hmm I guess not. Decided to go with Claire Austin as I can't justify spending the Kelways prices.
