Positive thoughts and silly things for the tough times

When times get tough there are all sorts of positive thoughts and silly things that help us through.
For instance - my son was a sound engineer and worked with all sorts of musicians and stars - when working with Lionel Richie they shared a drink or two and talked about their families - LR said, "Your mum sounds cool."
On a bad day it can really help me to smile, knowing that Lionel Richie thinks I'm cool!!! LOL

Hiya cool Mum, I sometimes have to tell myself it could be worse I could still be working at ********** a place I worked years ago and totally hated.
I have a little pot ornament that is a small bowl with beans, pulses and a little silver coin in it. Called a Pot of Plenty. Idea being if you own this you will always have all you need, you might never be rich, but you will have enough. I've had it since 1981 and even though not the prettiest of things I keep it almost like a safeguard.
In the past I have had some really bad jobs! But now I work for an oil company in Aberdeen, good pay good working conditions, my own office listening to Classic FM.
I look back on the past jobs and think I'm so glad to be where I am now

my children called me Miss Marple as I could always suss them out!

I remember them. Growing older does make me worry at times in case I can't manage the garden. One of my sayings that makes me smile is "old age is not so bad, just consider the alternative.
