Hello! Update on the crab apples this year - they are absolutely weighed down with fruit - both of them! Yay! No idea what went wrong in 2013, but it went right in 2014. Didn't put in any new varieties because I didn't know what the problem had been, but I will be doing now I know it's safe. Looking at all the suggestions made by you all, and will be making a choice soon. I'll let you know what I pick. Does anyone know if Jelly can be made from any variety? I always used to make it from wild roadside trees, but don't use them anymore because of pollution form increased traffic on the narrow lanes near my home. Could I use Golden Hornet and Red Sentinel safely and successfully?
