Thanks, Lily.....I do think it's a really positive move by the village council. It's just a wide grass verge that has been turned over to wild flowers.
That is absolutely beautiful, it's what I would love to do on the grass verge at the front of my house but it hardly gets any sun. I've got a few wild flower packets so just growing to sow them in Autumn and see what happens
Well at the moment all that grows there is wild grass that OH trims with the strimmer, the soil isn't cared for at all. I was thinking if I cut the grass really short and make some holes with an aerator type thing then just scatter them??? Would that work? I was trying to think how they germinate in the wild and they don't get any TLC (I can see you laughing now David taking it's going to be impossible for me to grow something that doesn't need TLC )

Thanks, OL.....problem is, they need really impoverished soil to succeed, so, as a project needs to be planned with care.
Lily, I think this is a better shot of the cornflowers.
