I love looking at everyone's pictures; all so different and thought provoking. Here's my sample of some of the wildlife in my garden in France this summer. All taken on Olympus PEN new system. The contact sheet has come out a bit squeezed! can anyone help identify the plant with the orange & yellow flowers? It loos like a buddlea... The first image is of a elephant cactus flower that appeared and grew to 3 metres in under a month! Whole families of birds and insects took up residence in it.
Interesting question James, yes & no... it's up in the pyrenees overlooking a deep valley although there is a swimming pool in the garden and a river far below. I've never seen so many different buttlerfiles and dragonflies and I spend a great deal of time chasing them for a good pic! The picture second from bottom on the left is a cicada carrying her baby on her back

Bristol ballon festival - no idea what camera though
And finally - my fave pic taken on a really basic compact digital camera (many years ago)
Love that pic FB - cropped it with PS.
FarmerG - you've made fidget's picture even scarier.
More great shots.....thank you.
Kew?
Yeah - was really easy I thought what with this being a gardening forum. I love the shadows the building casts on itself.

sarah I can't help with the flower but love all the wild life in your garden. I wonder do you live near water by any chance?

Caught this little chap/chapess dangling about outside (thank god) earlier. Used the car lights going past to balance the light inside to get the shot
