Absolutely loved those pics, Fidget.....evoked happy childhood memories for me too.
I remember those wonderful fishing days - a stick out of the hedge for a rod, cotton thread for a line, bent pin for a hook, a matchstick float & piece of bread for bait.
I still enjoy my fishing today and although the tackle is more sophisticated, I doubt I get any more pleasure than those long sunny summer days.
Of course, there were no paedophiles around then....we had to buy our own sweets!
fidgetbones, I'd remove those pictures if I was you, on health and safety grounds. There should be a steel mesh cover over the pond incase you fall in, those puppy's could bite you, and there's not a hint of any CBRN checked adult supervisor. What if a paedo came and snatched you away?
Leadfarmer. What you can't see is our dog, Blacky. Alsatian x labrador, all black, soft as tripe with us, and kids she knew, but would have a stranger up against a wall as soon as look at him. We never had any bother, and we would go miles in the woods and fields on the edge of town.
The bubble cossies, I think were prewar. My nan kept them for any grandchildren knocking about. Two of the kids are some of my 14 cousins My nan had 7 children and 18 grandchildren.
Which war Fidget? Lots of big family gatherings I imagine. We had boxer dogs as I was growing up and like you were very safe.
David did you embroider the train ? Sorry just couldn't help myself I'll go to the naughty step. Someone spent a fair bit of time doing it, is it old / cherished? I failed this morning's mission, will try another morning.
