OH and I took the same photo in Oxford, mine is a bit dull, his is brighter, but his was too big and wouldn't upload. So he reduced it as I couldn't manage it, but it's tiny now. He wouldn't stop to explain how he reduced - he's rushed off to mow the lawn. Think it's the first time he's managed to do it anyway! I've asked on previous threads how to reduce photos, but the few answers I had didn't work. Does anyone know?

Mine took much longer to upload of course. The orange is subdued, is that just the camera?

Oh dear, the quality isn't nearly as good as the original.

Here's mine of the same thing. Why did the photo come first when I did the script first?

The script is all in the wrong order too. The first sentence should be the last one, with the photo just before it. Weird.image

  • Hi BL,

What programme do you use to open your pics? If you use Photoshop go to the image tab and click on image size. Then enter the size you want the pic to be - for me I use 2048 along the long length of the pic, the short length will automatically adjust when you click enter. I then go to the file tab and do 'save as' and give the pic a name that is different to the original pic: this keeps the original pic as you took it for a time when you might want to use it for something else. You can then upload the saved pic to the forum as normal at a size the forum can cope with.

    Hope this helps. John H

My Azaleas are about to pop, I have a good camera but how do I transfer my pics onto this forum please. Most of my pictures are on Photobucket,

tomstattyhead - To transfer your pics from photobucket to here:

    1) Open up Photobucket and click the pic you wish to transfer.

    2) On the right you will see 'links to share this photo', click the box titled  'direct' and you should see it (briefly) say 'copied'.

    3) Next, in the message box of this forum click the small green tree on the taskbar's upper right.

    4) In the window that opens click 'an external site', then right click the box 'URL' and paste....next click 'insert' and it's done.

Lizzie, I know how annoying this can be.....it's just how it is.

Sometimes it takes me ages to insert a smiley at the end of a message because the cursor always defaults to the beginning....I reckon this is connected to the pics defaulting to the top.

    Lovely colourful shots, thank you.

  • Thanks David

, I have five azaleas , I think they're having a sleep in, along with  my choisya.I don't blame them , still a bit cold and dull here. I will have a go at posting my pics, following your instructions.(watch this space ) image Joan

Adobe do a relatively inexpensive version of Photoshop called Photoshop Elements (My CS5 cost £640). You should be able to find it on Ebay but do be aware of Chinese copies as some of them can contain hidden spyware. The first CS5 I bought was from a UK company (it said) but was shipped from China. My Kaspersky Internet Security immediately warned of hidden scripts so I checked with Adobe and discovered it was a pirate copy. I then bought direct from Adobe and Paypal refunded the monies I had paid to the seller.

Adobe do have an offer on 'Elements' at present with 30% off see www.adobe.com/PhotoshopElements  This offer ends on Sunday 4th May. Oh, that goes to a different site, try this

(you will need to copy & paste the above [including the smilie]  into your web browser bar as I note it doesn't auto-load on a click). JH
