George Melly on the telly
I have indoor fruit trees and they are infected with what was described to me as Mealybugs by a garden shop in UK, I have used the killer tey told me to buy to no avail, I have been on the internet and understood that washing the leaves and trunk would hep, I also tried rubbing alcohol on cotton buds but still they survive, they are a spider type insect and will not go away my wife stands and crushes them daily to try reduce the numbers, reminding me of the nit nurse at school.
Any Ideas?

No kidding, are they bright orange red and quick on their feet? If so, they are red spider mite.
the colour is rusty red and not fast runners, at first they leaves had been dropping but now I think we have them down to a low count but suppose it would not take long for them to multiply again, we have tried Bug Clear Ultra and F&V but they seem to swim in the stuff
we believe it could be these....T. urticae is extremely small, barely visible with the naked eye as reddish or greenish spots on leaves and stems; the adult females measure about 0.4 mm long.3] The red spider mite, which can be seen in greenhouses and tropical and temperate zones, spins a fine web on and under leaves
Your T. urticae is my red spider mite.
thanks so how do I rid the trees of them?
