My first deep rootrainers didn't have a lid. The new ones , I paid less for and do have a lid. Its possible there are both knocking around. As these are going to be in there a long time, I suppose the lid will stop them drying out as fast, but I dont think its vital.
Well thanks to my friends on here I hope that my courgettes will be happier now
I know KEF, I'll have a whole new family as he has 4 children too, my boys get on really well with his youngest which is great.
Thanks for the sweet pea tips, I am assuming they will let me take them into the hospital, will be gutted if they don't.
Lesley, nails I am just doing myself, don't like falsies as I'm not use to them...may have to get the scrubbing brush on them though! Hair, we are booked in at 9am and make up lady is coming to the hotel about 11 I think......so so excited
OH is snoring on the sofa, resting ready for the stag do tonight!!
OMG, just noticed my arms are covered in scratches from the courgettes and I think I've been bitten twice.....oh no!!

OL wrap in damp kitchen towel and put stalks in plastic bag, and nip all little courgettes off them

Back from visit that turned into digging up buttercups and just removed a lot of the top growth on 1st early spuds, will harvest later in the week.

O.l when I've taken sweet peas for gifts I've wrapped stems in foil with a sprinkle of water but only taken them half an hour in the car
OL, don't think hospitals like any flowers
