that's right Lesley ( sorry panda, not worthy of such a description) its an 8 letter word beginning with 'f'. Just like tomorrow is a four letter word beginning with 'w'.
Well, I've been in the garden and had a soak in the bath in lavender oil.
I git loads done in the garden, all the borders weeded, apple tree bad bits trimmed (yes I didn't get round to it before!), dead-heading done and some over run plants cut back slightly so my established border doesn't look so much like a jungle!!!
Am I meant to deadhead Rhoddies? I did some then had a terrible feeling I shouldn't be doing it so stopped
Anyway, boys have been watching football whilst I've been busy, off to bed in a minute......saying prayers the M62/M1 is good to me tomorrow......not so sure on a Friday
Good luck to stepson tomorrow MrsGarden, I felt yours and Chickies stress mildly with 3 GCSEs this year, will get the full effect next year I'm sure.....dreading it already!!
OL. you are supposed to let the Rhoddie blooms go over and then remove the husk to encourage healthy bud formation below.
Busy day for me today. I hopped off to one GC this morning but was very unhappy with the standard of plants, half of which were dead, the other half were half dead.
So, OH adviced me to go over the other side of my town and visit the posh GC which I did and there I found a superb choice of delicously health plants all well watered and tended to.
I bought a Clematis Koreana Brunette (nodding purple bells and amazing bronzed foilage), and Clematis cirrhosa Wisley Cream (gorgeous healthy green foilage and greeny white flowers in autumn-winter). Can't wait to see these in action!
I also couldn't resist a Royal purple Smoke bush which I know every gardener should have and I love them so much...I just wasnt sure where to put it until now.
Oh, and a Verbascum Jackie in Pink which will get some rigorous division in spring time
I'm over the moon with my choices and can't wait to see them add to my garden
Sorry, muppet head on again (too much brain activity tonight!)..,,,,I forgot to say thank you to Fidget (or was it fairy ), can't wait it get my seeds and see if I can grow a Hellebore
Hectic day. Human relations, not gardening. Committee meeting this afternoon, road was up, had to do huge detour, 40 mins late. Sons x 2 & brother rang this evening. Got washing in in the dark.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I wouldn't waste too much time on Bb Philippa. He will carry on telling you how it is as long as you let him.
I pressed the ignore button and I haven't done that for a very long time
