Hello folks! I'm bushed - I've been in the garden all day apart from when I took friend back to the railway station - I've been potting the tomatoes into their final big pots - somehow I have 25 outdoor tomato plants - I was going to cut down on the number of toms this year this year - somehow I've got more than ever and I've given a load away
I've still got some other plants to pot up but I've put them back in the mini-greenhouse for the night - there's black clouds in the west and thunder rumbling around.
I've got three trays of seedlings that I've got absolutely no room for in the greenhouse, so they're under the table on the terrace just in case we get a horrendous downpour that would bash them about, they'll have a little bit of protection under the table
We'd got a piece of lamb shoulder for supper this evening, but it's been too hot to cook anything and almost too hot to eat ... 29.1C in the shade this afternoon - OH has had a tuna salad and I've had lots of cold sparkling water and a few spicy tortilla chips - that's enough.
I'll cook the lamb tomorrow.
A long cold drink anyone?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Would love to hear you singing with artjak nut Three gardens visited in a day is good going. I was just out eating.
Fairy we had a massive rhodo in the back garden and three years ago I hacked (sorry, pruned) it back to little more than a stump. We gained at least 6 feet of garden all round but lost the flowers till this year when it is performing well and looking healthy. I wish I had done it a third at a time so there were always some flowers.
Lily has anyone left a wee glass in the bottom of the jug for me please
A beautiful day, lunch with friends at The Rare Cow, a carnivores delight, a bottle of red.
A nice walk round the garden after, I should know better, can't resist pottering, watering the greenhouse etc etc. shoes now fithy trousers splashed and shirt dirty.
Enjoy your curry Panda - sounds like you deserve it
nutcutlet those gardens look lovely. The third really appeals to me (obviously from the pictures shown) and it would be lovely to follow it through the seasons and see what is there at different times.
AWB if you find a foolproof way to remind yourself to get changed before "just doing a little pottering" please let me know.
KEF - bacon bits
Hope you're safe from a massive downpour Dove (there should be a fingers crossed emoticon)

That is a lovely garden Lesley and I've been in a position to see it often. But the owners are moving at the end of the month so no more
