Mrs G - shame you're not near Cambridge - I got 3 clematis for a tenner from here the other day http://simpsonsnurseries.com/index.php/climbing-plants image

    Good morning all.

    Glad Ma's OK.

Another lovely day, more weeding and tidying. Must start splitting up the snowdrop clumps.

Tracey, my sweetpeas are leggy too and less than half have germinated. Put them in the coldframe yesterday, they are still there this morning. Planted them in loo roll middles, but they are starting to disintegrate, silly me, I've used those bio-degradable ones!

Glad she's okay Dove! What a stressful evening you must have had. Do be sure to rest and catch up on your sleep - especially since we want you recovered from last weeks ill health.

I've been trying to get all organised and sort out mothers day gifts. So far it looks like both mothers are getting a ton of well rotted horse poop care of my Godmothers pony (maybe mother will be more forgiving of my choice of truck when she realises the quantity of poo it can shift from wet fields). I guess it makes a for something different than just chocolates and flowers.

Also - how is it that when you get yourself a partner (as a woman) you suddenly become responsible for buying all the gifts for his side of the family too? I seem to end up doing all the Christmas / Birthday gifts now! Wait til he realises that (owing to my being a delicate wee thing) he'll be doing the majority of the digging.image

Morning all image Cheeky check in from work!!  Following my hiding from the police helicopter last night I finally woke up at 8 this morning (oops image) which made for more of a frantic dash than usual to get out the house.  Really must try harder at being a lark instead of a night owl image

Dove, glad Ma is ok. Love Broadlands villages, if I could I would love to live in one. . . as long as it had a broad attached though image oh, and I had a yacht!

Mrs G, enjoy the hunt for your perfect clematis . . . . I'm off to do some actual work image and have another coffee image

Mr and Mrs Mallard are still here. They give me quite an indignant quack when I disturb their peace.

Yesterday I cleared an area that had shasta daisies in, and this morning I am wondering what happened to Thalictrum thundercloud. Good job I saved some seed.

I'm glad your mum is OK, Dove.

Just in to warm up a bit, think I may have a fire this afternoon. I know they are not very environmentally sensitive, but they do make me happy; and warm.

Also need to get in stream and start clearing some of the weeds from the banks.

Glad your news is good Dove.

PD - I've lots of buddleia branches to burn on your fire (I failed with the boy scout pyrotechnics at the weekend so it's all ready for you!).

2 clematises bought - Bekitney Aniol, Blue Eyes (lots of blue flowers all summer) and Alpina Pamela Jackman (different shaped dark blue flowers spring with seedheads to follow). Offer- 2 for £14at GC.

Going for Generous Gardener rose,(pale pink, heavy scent) have rung round local GCs one pos will have tomorrow if order comes early or online if not.

That's plenty for one arch, just need to think about the other ones now. One arch will be by itself and the other 2 together to make a pergola.
