Well of course the deliveries didn't come until 3pm. So I packed up SIL's pots., pulled out some weeds in the front nature reserve.(cant call it a flower bed, and daren't stick a fork in for fear of upsetting the bee colony.)
I posted hellebore seeds to Lesley K
I got Star Gaze Lilys email- I will be in contact shortly.
and then I could go out in the sunshine....
Planted more hellebore seeds, may have mixed up the labels, (oops ) shoved in a few plants in a gap, and had a look for neighbours lost cat again (didn't look very hard)
OH will be home from Manchester soon, with his cold that he has acquired there.
I wonder if a tin of chicken soup will do for dinner, or if I could make it to the chippy.
Tomorrow I need some more roottrainers, a visit (early) to the garden centre, I think.
I hope the weather men are wrong about tomorrows forecast. I dont know about dove watering her courgettes, mine are doing the backstroke. If it rains anymore they'll need snorkels.
Great day. Spotted one of the arisaemas coming up to flower. Now I have to work out which one it is. Must be a tough one, I lost some in the winter before last. It's a big one. We shall see
more goosegrass scratches and nettle stings up the arms.
Boy tree bees buzzing round the nest waiting for the girls. It's all exciting
Hi everyone back from work. What a gloriously sunny day it has been. Can't believe how it can change from this to tomorrows forecast so quickly. No two days the same.
Many thanks fidget for posting the seeds - I re-read your earlier post more carefully and saw you said you were putting others in too. Thanks so much. I am now feeling the weight of great responsibility
Its been sunny all day here, but every other day or night this week we have had rain.
The weather forecast for tomorrow is atrocious, up to 30 mm of rain . flood warnings etc. I haven't watered anything outside, just tipped water out of the trays.
Wow what a lovely day, sometimes having a bad back is fairly pleasant. Have been sat in the garden reading Christopher lloyds book on colour. Great read, especially his rather wicked sense of humour. [ If I am honest I was mainly looking at the pictures ]
Hayloft are replacing the Malvas I ordered, as they arrived covered with rust, not impressed.
Lovely story Fg.
Hope all have a great Friday, storms tomorrow. Never mind big rugby came on the tele, plus my nephew is playing for Scotland at the under 20s World Cup. Well chuffed. He gets it from me you know, even if he isnt a blood relative.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Been a lovely day here in Bristol. Clouded over a little now but no rain, not yet anyway. Drove an angle iron stake into the ground to support a fence post that's broken at ground level - water everywhere all of a sudden! I'd forgotten the buried pipe that supplies water to the GH!
Had to set to and mend that before I could carry on!
We have lived here for nearly 50 years and visited a local nursery for the first time. It's been there longer than we have & we can't believe it's taken this long to go there. CS Lockyer - the fuschia people who show at Chelsea etc are almost adjoined to them & we only went there for the first time 3 weeks ago!

Where's all this rain then? Don't want to boast but it's been sunny all day in Liverpool! Dinner's still in the freezer......
