The top one is a Hosta Clari image I wouldn't dream of them in my garden . . . far too attractive to slugs and snails! Plus I'm way too far away!

Popped into the market on my way home and the following plants persuaded me to purchase them: 2 flowering foxgloves (1 purpurea, Camelot rose, 1 Alba), Penstemon Windsor red, Agapanthus, Salvia Hotlips and Leucanthuem Aglaia. All in 2 litre plus pots, all for £17.50 image

Now I really have no excuse not to finish of the bed!!

Well, apart from the weather image

Hope we are all having a good day image

Good to see you SweetPea image

My two go too books are the afore mentioned Garden Plants for Scotland and How to Propagate by John Cushnie..

In my eyes garden plants for Scotland is a must have for any Scottish gardener experienced or otherwise..

And Cushnie's how to propagate has basically everything you need to know about the subject of propagating...

Oh Pam, that was nasty - lucky there was no permanent damage.

No Percy not read that one but heard about it wrote it down on my wanted list and threw the list awayimage Anyway I want plants that Verdun grows in Cornwallimage. Hope your son is OK he might come back with webbed feet!  It's really awful today.

Too far away from me Clari, but I do like the look of the top one.  Perhaps a neighbour might like them.

Oh they're definite slug masters that's for sure! Maybe I should sacrifice them and put them at the edge of the garden as traps to stop the slugs venturing towards my tomatoes.

    Not quite companion planting...

That would be the only reason I would get one Clari! image

Lesley, I don't really know my neighbours well (although certainly I can assure you that one is not at all green fingered). Perhaps I could put them on the front drive with a "free to good home" sign. There's still a bush out there from when I went on the local "sales forum" offering a few plants to anyone who wanted to collect them - its been months but I just haven't gotten round to moving it!

pop them on your local freecycle group, hopefully they will go to a likeminded green fingered person, and maybe could establish a friendly plant swapping friendship. We can but dream heh?

Think they are all hostasimage  Gimageood idea to use them as bait

Panda you really got a good deal at the market.  Even though you can't get them in the ground today you can stay nice and dry and plan where they will goimage
