    Morning all.

Its grim up North today, wet and dark, cant even face a wander round the garden.

Have a good day everyone, hope the workers emerge with their smiles intact.

Morning all, raining, but at least it'll water everything before Saturday.

Going shopping, then lunch at the Wok place. You could your raw food and they cook it for you in a wok with a choice of sauces. There is ready prepared Chinese food as well.

Making strawberry jam this afternoon for the Tea on Saturday.

Thanks for the bracken link Dove - wasn't aware but will be careful now that i am - littlest chicklet is asthmatic so even more reason to remove it now. We have got rid of it completely in some places by a few years of mowing. Thats not possible in the meadow, so i thought that by removing its leaves i will stop it being able to photosynthesise and weaken it year by year. Have a lovely day with daughter - and others too at Chinese restaurants, saltmines, B&Q, SM etc. Keep smiling Panda and Lily - if nothing else it will irritate the h*** out of the perpetrators !

Still hissing down here, not even been to look in GH.

Yesterday I was reading a thread entitled Unknown Plant from a lady who had unknowingly planted giant hogweed in her garden & someone posted a link to a newspaper article sorry I don't recall who is was imageabout a man who had come into contact with it, scary. Well worth looking at. Me thinks no more walks down canal in cropped trousers in Summer.

Thanks for your comments. I suppose you're right, but there's so much rain I can't get out to do anything. Consoled myself by buying many more books than I intended to at the bookshop. I popped in for a sit down and a little read to get away from it all - another bad shift at work, and didn't want to bring my mood back home for the OH to put up with... Came home £20, but another Carol Klein book to add to the collection. Seeing as I can't possibly go outside, I'm going to keep myself busy with those, and tidy the living room which is frankly, a tip! Tidy house, tidy mind and all that.

    Thanks again

    Good afternoon all,

Hope those who are a bit down are feeling better.

Not doing any gardening today as going to wedding and trying to keep my nails looking halfway decent and I'm having a manicure later today.

Dove and Chicky, I think that bracken has been linked to stomach cancer in cattle but I 'm more worried about the odd tick that might be lurking in it although probably only where there are sheep or deer.

At least you're home and in the dry now SweetPea.  Which Carol Klein book did you get.  I have Grow your own Garden which is great for showing how to propagate but doesn't tell you exactly when to for each thing.  I may be asking plenty of questions about that on here.

Absolutely throwing it down here and the rain is overflowing the gutters.  The dog is waiting for her walk but I'm afraid she'll have to wait  a bit longer.

Pam you made me look at my nails and they are dreadfulimage  If I was going to a wedding I'd have to wear gloves!  Enjoy itimage
