Might be last post today as cooking and watching Chelsea, have recorded the lot and am going to have a great evening.
Have moved some pots on the patio, I had turned their saucers upside down so plants weren't in standing water. Guess what I've found? Sneaky little slugs, woodlice & even a tiny snail. Maybe good idea to check yours if you've done the same as me.
I just got back from 10 days in Crete yesterday. MIL and Step FIL live there. Had a fab time, and is really very beautiful. We went to the botanic gardens there, which are virtually carved into a cliff face. An amazing place.
Came back to a very green and wet garden. Can't believe that weeds can grow that fast in 10 days. Also lots of plants I have no idea what they are, and discovered that what I thought was a plum tree is an apple tree.
Thankyou all so much for the birthday greetings, they are really appreciated, you are a truly fab bunch.
We have had a lovely, although wet time in N. Yorkshire, visited Helmsley walled garden and Scampston gardens. The second will belovely later in the yea, as it has some Piet Oudolph designed naturalistic borders.
Dinner at the Black Swan at Helmsley was also great, wont go into details as some of you might be squeamish about the nose to tail eating philosophy there, but we loved it. We try to get to 2 or 3 really good restaurants in a year, which usually involves collecting Michelin Stars in London, although I am now keener on some of the new gastro-pubs with a bit less poncery but very good and more affordable food.
Off to have a look at what you have been up too, see you soon.
PS may have to change my name to punkdog!
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Here here KEF, the boys have already said they will be going to the away match at Rotherham next year, I might join them and meet my South Yorkshire friends for a coffee

Just in as it's raining again. Got a good bit done though. Time for dinner - no poncery here, just home made lasagne
Glad you had a lovely time doc and Mrs doc. As my mum used to say - you're back to 'purridge and auld claes'.
Those not familiar with the Scottish vernacular can have a translation if needed
