KEF how odd your poppies aren't open yet. I'm only a couple of miles away and mine (all big yellow devils) are in full bloom if not going over. I'm looking forward to catching some seeds to plant in more appropriate places when we sort out the flower beds. I'm currently waiting for the daffodils (who are looking far too healthy) and tulips (dying back slowly) to go over to I can dig up the bulbs to move elsewhere. Not entirely sure where they'll go yet but they are some of the few plants I like for the sake of prettiness. I'm sure I'm not alone in being the kind of person who prefers plants that are "useful".
Partner informed me yesterday that he'll be making my chicken coop (I had been looking at those plastic Omlet ones thinking plastic would be very easy to keep clean and mite free) in wood for three chickens so I think its safe to say he's starting to open up to the idea (although he'd rather have ducks). Of course his to do list is now so long what with the two greenhouses, the slabs up the garden, helping me Rotavator the vegetable patch and lay railway timbers around the pond and edges... I may have to be patient for a year or two!!
Clari have you decided where chickens from? Looked into a farm at bank view farm, hiring incubator and hatching your own. very helpful, course to do as well. Not for us though.
Hello everyone, I've had a chance to catch up and as expected lots of gardening going on, also lots of al fresco drinking (and eating?) and possibly a but of sun stroke Even though I was on a hen do I avoided any sunstroke and didn't sing to any skips, was wide awake early on Sunday morning and ready to go sight seeing, but the youngsters amongst the group were a little worse for wear LOL!!!
Great to see Punkdoc......hello Punk (wavy face) if you are reading and don't stay away too long.
Glad the open house went well Lily, fingers crossed for a buyer.
The veg patch looks great Chicky and ((hugs)) for you and Chicklet re the exams, my eldest has his last GCSE for this year today (Physics), so we can relax until it starts again even worse next year when he has all his GCSE's to do
Well, I think that's all for now, I'm hoping the thunder storms forecast will stay away long enough for me to get some gardening done later.
Morning all. One bright ref poppy so far. Clari have you decided where chickens from? Looked into a farm at bank view farm, hiring incubator and hatching your own. very helpful, course to do as well. Not for us though.
Morning Mrs G!
No we've not decided where to get the chickens from yet. I'm still umming over which breed would suit us best (and of course trying not to get too excited since I'll no doubt have to wait a while til we're ready to invite them into our garden). I'll google them and see if we can perhaps sneak over for a visit!
