And breathe.... Ahh lovely morning in the garden, mainly digging, raking, pottering, moving stones to form a path I planned last year. Garden looks in great shape, even if I do say so myself! Still got massive laurels to chop but they will have to wait, off for a shower, lunch then visiting friend. Oh, and son has 'planted' footballs in spare patches in borders, lovely!

OH is having an after lunch doze - but then he did work very hard this morning while I was getting my ear attended to - he worked so hard he snapped the handle of my border spade image - oh well, I shall have to treat myself to a new one image

20C here too!  Just removed my (almost) dead Acer palmatum and replaced it (not in exactly the same place) with a dwarf magnolia which has spent a year in a large pot. Magnolia are listed as resistant to Honey Fungus (but not immune.)  Used plenty of root-it mycorrhizae in the planting hole in the hope that it has a little underground fight with the HF! image

Quite a few butterflies about, so taking camera out in a mo. image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I've got a very lovely Under Gardener - he's digging my wildlife pond for me (with the broken spade image ((hugs)) - no more procrastinating about where and when - it's happening now - It's going to be roughly egg shaped and 1.70m x 2.70m  That's bigger than I'd thought imageimageimage

That's me done working image   Weeded 2 beds, hoed, turned bins, lifted thing in & out of GH for an airing, pruned, and now pooped. Going to sit on bench in remains of sun, still in shorts image and plan what's to do tomoz'. Might have a long cold drink image

Has anyone got any spare food? I forgot about that. Will have to be the defrosted chicken thighs and "summat".

Dove my undergarden is still crook...hasn't broken the spade rather broken his back ( me thinks pulled it ) well enough for footie match but can't bend properly image Pond so image, hope that's envy & not sick.

Bob never encountered honey fungus, hope all thrives. Hardly dared type that, don't want to tempt fate. We've seen one butterfly and rescued 2 bees from GH. They get cross when you grab them with kitchen towel image

Dove lily beetles image Spent half last Spring / Summer hunting the devils, this year they get Provado. I've 7 pots of lilies and it became an obsession last year, spot the beetle.

p.s. I wasn't offering Vodka & Tequila earlier just trying to make my pal Panda poorly, I'm kind like that image Hope you now well recovered Panda x

KEF - I grew lilies in pots last summer for the first time - I left them in the pots over winter - now one of them, Rio Negro, seems to be growing hundreds of babies in the pot - that's lovely image glad it's happy - but do you think the big 'parent' bulbs will flower  again this year?  I'm not au fait with these more exotic lilies image

Dove I'm sure it will. Mine have been in pots for ages and still produce a huge lily / lilies, the bulblets don't seem to do anything unless you totally repot and grow them on, which I haven't done. Will do shortly with two pots as they got frost damaged last year and are dropping to bits. I top dress mine in Spring & give a tomato feed when they start to show flower heads. Then give liquid feed as they die off.  I'm no expert but have grown for years and my method works for me image
