I often give the GW offers a go - they are good if you have empty borders to fill! But if its not an offer I now take Verdun's advice and go for an independent nursery - so far i have been very pleased with what i have bought. The choice is endless - whereas in GCs you can only get what the buyers have chosen for that season.
I was going to do a few of the GW offer byt TM are the suppliers - now I'm not sure what to do.
Chicky - we'll be out in the garden laying foundations so expect the birds will be hiding. Mind you we did it last year in a garden where they near had to line up and wait to get to the feeders and... not one bird appeared! I think they knew!
Morning All, glad you had a good evening Panda. Thanks for all the tips, I have seen the good guys thread but a lot of those nurseries aren't near me, when I say my local GC, they are more of a nursery really but a big one. Family owned and run and very very helpful with good offers on, not a big chain.
Weather here is rubbish, windy and rainy but working so I wouldn't get in the garden anyway.
Is it normal to dream about sweet peas growing?????
Chicky I agree, online the choice of plants is huge, whereas more and more GCs just stock the same small range of plants. As has been mentioned on other thread there are some really excellent online suppliers, and I tend to buy anything I want in that way.
Have a good day everyone, especially the workers.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Just had a stroll around my garden, desperate for some life in the pots with Lillies in.......there are just the tiniest little green shoots showing........yippee And my tulips are coming up too.
Think I'm going to order the free geraniums and free strawberries from last months GW and this months today. Might put the strawberries in a hanging planter rather than the ground as my female beagle is partial to strawberries and no room in the veg patch to plant them out of reach!!!

Nice clear day here, at the moment, we have a bucket load of, you guessed it, rain scheduled for later. I won't be upset if it missed us though
Well, guess I better get dressed and out the door. Think I'll just take a few minutes though to sup my tea
Enjoy the day!
Good morning all - I was up and out stomping! Now I'm back and showered. A visit to the Aged Ps planned for later, but first I need another coffee

Probably not Tracey, but that's what makes gardeners such interesting people

Good morning Forkers.
I went to bed last night, having given myself a talking to, with the intention of getting up at a sensible time and copying Dove, by going for a walk.
Failed at the first attempt
heard the rain and went back to sleep. Have really excelled myself ! only just on first cuppa.
Morning all. you guessed it, wet and windy here.
