I meant to tell you the other day - one evening last week I asked OH apropos of nothing, whether anything interesting had happened at work. 'Yes' he said, 'I had to try to recapture a box full of escaped hamsters.'
Now OH has a dry sense of humour and often tells 'tall stories' to wind me up, so I laughed at him and said I didn't believe him ... eventually he convinced me it was true.
The garden centre next to the farm shop has a Pet Centre ... OH was by the farm shop door when he saw a delivery man carrying a couple of boxes, stacked one on one. Then he tripped and lost his grip and the boxes fell onto the ground ... decanting a flock (flock? herd? tribe? ) of hamsters onto the car park
The hamsters ran hither and thither with OH and the delivery man trying to pounce on them in a humane and caring way. Very few were retrieved. Apparently most of them ran towards the area where the hot tubs are stored - lots of cosy nooks for hamsters to hide in .......... I wonder whether there were boy and girl hamsters in those boxes?

I'm just starting to get ready for a teatime / evening out and seriously thinking about putting jeans and a great big jumper on Cold wet and windy here.
Bit late with this, the posts move up so quickly, here's a link to Trago, they employ a lot of people, ok maybe they pay minimum wage, I don't know, but the West Country folk can be quite poor, and the ones that do want to work may be happy to get any wage at all. there's not a lot of employment down here, the staff always seem happy, and I have seen that some of the staff have been there for years.
also to add, there has been a Polish village next to Trago for 70 years, I suppose they would want to employ Polish people.
