A house on a hill is what you want - with no 'midge protecting' shrubbery or nearby rivers or lochs ...
Not too keen on the gale force winds either - so would have to be one of those lovely little white washed cottages with 2' thick walls which are nestled into the hillside. Would get good views too from a hill
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I'd love to live in Glen Tilt - or Glen Fyne. Sheltered because of the nature of the surroundings. Views to die for. Strangely - I experienced mutant midges on top of Ben Lawers some years ago - it's nearly 4,000 feet above sea level
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thoroughly miserable afternoon here - at least the morning was brighter for the bird count.
We've taken MIL to look at wood flooring in Homebase, eaten a vast amount of roast leg of lamb and Semi-freddo (on separate plates) and we're collapsed on the sofa while OH tackles the mountain of washing up in the kitchen - bless him
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I'm back from the training and am now a qualified first responder Resussie Annie was indeed on the table Dove!
Am sitting listening to a David Walliams audio book while OH watches the football I think children's audio books are great, and no one needs to know you are enjoying them, unlike if I was actually sat there reading them
Afternoon has brightened up considerably - am currently outside of half a glass of Baileys - apparently MIL found herself with too many bottles of Baileys after Christmas It would be rude not to try and help her out, wouldn't it?

Afternoon all. Survived the camper at the museum: despite a third more mouths arriving than had been booked in. I was convinced as they all came through the door that'd they'd acquired waffs and strays from the train station! What a good job that when I cater I cater for ravenous so there was plenty of food to go around.
At least it didn't snow: that would have been the topping on the weekend if they'd not have been able to leave due to the weather!
Boss pulled me into his office with a trustee (who I had confided in as both a friend but also someone who should be aware of things like this) and got more a lecture and fobbing off than any sign of an apology or even any kind of understanding at what he's put me through: when I told him that I had £5.35 to my name and couldn't even afford a tank of fuel to get into work this coming week it went entirely over his head. It'll be interesting come Wednesday if the money isn't in my account because I honestly don't think my car will run on fumes for that long. I'll just have to use one of the company vehicles to get to and from work: the neighbours will love a fire engine trying to squeeze up the street (there's no way you'd get up our road with an engine due to people's parking habits so maybe coming home in an engine would be a good idea before we need one for real).
How I am not hideously grey I have no idea.
Oh well, I have a week of school groups learning about the Great Fire Of London to enjoy this week! Hopefully come the weekend there will be some warmth in the air so I can get outside and try and tidy up the garden. Next door seem to be on a mission to BURN EVERYTHING! Fences, trees, shrubs... I'd love to know what they're up too with their back garden its a beautifully sized blank slate.
Dove; why is it every bird count weekend all the birds in my garden completely disappear? Its happened for years. All year round you get a lovely amount of birds (and other visitors) in the garden but come this weekend *ta da* nothing! I wonder what neighbour feeds them one weekend a year that they jump ship too.
Frank I'm pleased to read good news..the engagement party and a super Xmas 2016
You can't beat the Bank of Dad Mine being a true Yorkshireman ( bless him & miss him ) loaned us money to extended this house, it had to be a cash purchase because of the state of it and we were skint. Dad only charged us 1% above bank base rate Well it was his holiday fund
Off now to eat Pork loin joint, stuffing, apple sauce, cauli, broc, runner beans & roast spuds with cider infused gravy..see you all tomorrow
