Lesley - I occasionally had them in the garden when I lived round the corner, but only towards late winter or in severe weather - ie shortage of food. There's a lot of farmland round here as well as a small NT garden, so lots of birds have no need to venture into our little plots. I also had a treecreeper on a regular basis. I loved seeing him
Managed to avoid running over a red squirrel yesterday too - they dart out so close to the car. Just as well I was going slow, but road conditions demanded it. It's real red squirrel country round Loch Tay and Glen Lyon. I also saw a jay flying across in front of me. We don't get them in gardens here, so it's the first time I've seen one. A raptor of some sort in Glen Lyon too - too brief a glimpse to be sure, but may have been a red kite.
Two climbers killed in Glencoe yesterday - the hill next to Bidean nam Bian. Avalanche season...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We are due snow here tomorrow and the car is booked in for it's Contrôle Technique too, what a coincidence Lizzie.
I haven't been feeling very well since the dentist on Monday, nothing serious but not quite right. Today though, felt really bad and ended up visiting A&E and turns out I have an infection. They have given me antibiotics and strong painkillers and I have to go to the GP tomorrow with a referral for the dental hospital. Not impressed.
Early night now so this was just a quick look in.
Hope you are all well and I hope to be on better form tomorrow.

Topbird, I looked up the link you sent on Suffolk churches and found the Norfolk one in our village. Looks very interesting. We couldn't visit it though because we weren't there on a Sunday and it's closed in the winter months.
They have changed the forecast since this morning, just looked again, rain instead of snow.
Lesley, M&S delivered the bedding just when they said they would and IKEA delivered the bed - all very comfy, but the towels will be better once they've been washed. Washing machine is still in Eastbourne until the removal in early February.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
You snuck in there BL - Simon's websites are excellent & now highly regarded guides. I think he's 'done' all the Suffolk churches (some more than once) and the majority of Norfolk ones too. Keep the websites close to hand for when you're busy exploring in the summer so you don't miss any gems
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Absolutely - it seems to me to be the glamorous sister of Chartiers in Paris.
The food was superb, amazing value and faultless service
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Poor you - DD - what a horrible few weeks you've been having. Hope you can get things sorted out soon. ((Hugs)).
DD - should have gone to my son, the dentist! But I hope the infection clears up quickly, horrid when things aren't right with your teeth.
Hope that clears up soon DD. Miserable when it's your mouth
