Next door's little boys have made a great snowman between their front door and ours - complete with carrot nose and a bobble hat. And a very cheerful grin... hope it hangs around for a day or two...
Still waiting for a summons from Ireland to come and help daughter and SIL with their house move, which has to be before the end of the month (when their year's contract expires on their rented house). But it looks as if I should still be able to get cheap flights to & from Dublin at short notice.
I agree about Rob Titchener, Dove & Chicky. It's a really well-written plot line, I reckon - very believable. Can't believe how long I've been following the Archers! My granny introduced me to the programme when I was about 8, I think.
Lesley, your beef dippers sound scrummy!
It's beginning to look like early evening even though it's only 3pm... roll on Spring!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I wonder why I don't get the toolbar on my iPad? Never have - irrespective of updates etc etc. I sync my iPad with an iMac - does everybody else do syncs and back ups in iTunes? - maybe there are some settings in there I should change but I can't think where...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Was that a Freudian slip Verd? 'cluck' when speaking to Topbird!
Went for a little walk after going for bird food and milk. nice to get out. Buzzards in the fields and a fieldfare at the farm along the road. It's about the only place I see them round here - they don't usually come in the gardens. Sparrows in the hedges giving it what for
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Popped out earlier and put a bit more insulation around the sides of the little greenhouse. Although the temp in the back garden went up to + 3C, the ice on the pond and birdbath hasn't melted.
Feet have been up and the knitting is growing
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hmm - yes - settings all ok and everything is fine when I work on my iMac or hubby's macbook - both using Safari. As Toyah W might have said "It's a Mysterwy.... "
OH turned out the compost bin for me this morning - definite signs of burrowing on the outside but no signs of anything on the inside. Reinforced the rodent defences just in case (triple layers of chicken wire and bricks round the edges) and shovelled it all back in - so compost turned, peace of mind, bit of exercise in the fresh air - win, win methinks
Has been a sparkling day but still very cold. We didn't have that much of the white stuff on Thursday (1 - 2") - but there's a lot still around - especially where the sun doesn't get too. Our road is still frozen solid in places.
Can recommend compost turning as a way to get warm though

Snow was all gone, even on the high peaks of the moors by this morning, it's been 7/8c all day. Now raining though, so back to normal. Only had a sprinkling anyway, shame, I love it.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I'm sure you mean a sprinkle of snow Lyn. We've had our sprinkle of snow for days and it doesn't want to go. The dog loves it and it makes the garden tidy
Topbird - lol - it's a mysterwy. Glad you didn't come across any rats.
Keep safe on the roads Lizzie. Could you rearrange the test? I meant to ask how your M&S delivery went. You must have has somewhere or something to sleep on
Fairy I don't remember ever seeing a fieldfare. Lucky you!

Hello all!

Love the Archers - hate Rob Titchener

We've been out all day. Lunched with good friends, lots of chatting. A lot of fog on the roads. Was -4° this morning.
Forecast says we may have snow tomorrow, just when I've booked the car in for the Contrôle Technique (MOT).
Looked up that brasserie Dove. Sounds normal to me because it's French!
