Morning/afties all. Hope you can see everyone now Pat
Frozen here this morning - should have covered the car. Not sure if any gritters have been out as it was 50/50 whether it was to be freezing or or sleet/rain Everything is very sparkly. Getting worse up north though. Unbearable for many communities there as some are now completely cut off, and snow and freezing temps are coming in.
doc - your 'neighbour' situation sounds intolerable. I think Verdun's tight about trying to make headway - but I can understand how much that would stick in your craw. I don't know what I'd do if I was you.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning everyone, afternoon Pat thanks for the latest bushfire update haven't heard from Gary again yet but he's a fairly resourceful chap, but going to keep a watch for him all the same!
Thanks for the tooth sympathy chicky and DD
Pdoc, your neighbours sound petty, small minded folk! I can only imagine how it must make you and your OH feel! Glad the BT engineer told them what's what!
Enjoy your day at the school Clari, think it will be a giggle
A bit cloudy and breezy here this morning. 25C forecast for later though.
Nothing compared to floods and forest fires. Such tragedies.
We sat with 2 old girls ( 70s) last night who kept saying things like " I love the gays, sorry, is that UN PC to say that?" bless'em. They cajoled us into entereing a Mr and Mrs type competition and guess what????? WE WON. Bottle of whisky dully handed over to lovely old lady.
My ex used to say that when we went up to Nevis area to walk. 'Will we go and stay at the gays!' There was a fantastic place run by two gay chaps. One was chef and the other did front of house. He was brilliant, and the food and accomodation were superb.
I put a link on here to the walkhighlands site, a couple of pages back, about the castle as you'd asked about it. They're shoring up the non exisitent bank but I don't know how it'll go

Just be listening to the news about all the bushfires, such a tragedy and I just can't get my head around how terrifyingly scary it must be to be in it all. My heart goes out to all involved.
Wonky, sorry to hear of all your on going problems, hugs. I will also agree with what the others have said- first things first, get your tooth sorted. It won' t make all the other things disappear but will make it more bearable for you to battle you way through resolving them.
chicky, so glad you had a lovely day with Chicklet.
Hosta and hubs well done to both of you, enjoy your bonus tipple!
Fairygirl, take care on the ice.
Clari, sounds like to are in for a fun day.
I bet your walk was lovely Verdun, can't beat cold, crisp, and bright and dry early morning walks.
Dove it sounds like your hubs had a beautiful start to his day!
We are off to town....braving IKEA! Then visiting friends.
Hi to all that have popped in while I have been posting this.
It's sparkly here too but I'm snuggled up in bed with a coffee while OH takes an early morning turn with the dog then it will be back to stripping the walls.
I've just been watching the news about the floods and my heart goes out to all those who have had to leave their homes. The same goes for those in WA who are losing theirs to fires.
(Hugs) Wonky - hope you are pain free soon.
Dove you gave me a chuckle re Fawlty Towers being used as a training video
Bit wet and windy here but not too bad all things considered. Saw some news of weather in UK and fires in Australia, awful.
The guests are extremely nice and as someone said a bit direct, but at least we all know where we stand - the older lady told me her husband had Asperger's Syndrome too so not to worry about my OH offending them, they "understand". In actual fact I think she might have a point, that theory explains a lot.
Off to coffee morning now, local organised group, bacon butties on the menu today.
Catch you all later, good luck with the neighbours Punkdoc & WW. Well done Hosta on the Mr & Mrs Quiz, glad to hear the holiday is going well.
