Just seen the news and those WA fires are bad. One house destroyed and people evacuated. Highways closed and festival cancelled. Wonky, I hope you hear from your friend soon, he'll be a bit shocked if this is his first experience of bushfires,
I've managed some more weeding/pruning, but I've had to stop for a while - too hot for me.
Lirio, there is still lemon tart left, but only about a third - you'll have to be quick, though. The one who does NOT have t2 diabetes has been whittling away at it. I had a very small slice when he first cooked it, but have resisted since. My doctor has me bluffed.
Latest news on WA bushfires, for those of you who want to be informed - 3 missing, 95 properties lost, , more than 50,000 hectares lost. Still changes being advised they had light rain, but not enough to help. So sad for people.
Real change in the weather here - can't see out the window yet, but expecting frost - cars had iced over already when I ventured out about 10pm last night. Will be good to get some proper winter temperatures - particularly if they come with some blue skies
Wonky - hope you get that tooth sorted soon - as others have said, other problems will be easier to cope with if you can get rid of the nagging pain. DD - your OH comments made me smile too. SA's are known for their directness, so maybe they wouldn't have noticed anything out of the ordinary!
Had a lovely day out with Chicklet yesterday. Work beckons today ....but its nearly the weekend folks.
I'm off to a specialist school today to take firefighters uniforms for them to try on during their celebration (like an assembly?) I love doing little trips out like this so don't mind that it's another days holiday I'm not using on holiday stuff.
It's turning much colder now, the gritters are set to go out tonight in Sheffield so they must be expecting something other than rain. I'm hoping for dry! It can be as cold as it likes but please can we have dry!
Right, I must get his lordships lunchbox made. Yesterday my plans to reduce his calories failed as he was sent out for sandwiches for visitors and was told to "get something extra for yourself". Oh well, he'll realise he needs to loose a few pounds in his own time.
Talk of the bushfires on the news this morning ... hope things improve soon.
Frost on cars this morning, but not in the back garden - lowest temp overnight 1.6C and holding. Brrrrrrr! OH set off for work on his bike about 20 minutes ago under a brilliantly clear sky full of stars - beautiful
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I think my iPad is doing something again. I'll send this and see if anyone has responded.
Well there you are Chicky and Verdun.
