the rain should soften the ground up too. Not as much as we've had in UK though.

    Devon.

Funny you should say that, because i just came in a while ago and said the same thing to Hubby, I could actually pull weeds out without a digger. Makes a nice change for me as our soil is usually as hard as a rock.  Our river is also starting to drop too.

Ive tied flashing tape to my trellises to try to put the rosellas off their obsession with my climbing beans. I resent not getting a nice daily crop.  I've also been lifting onions since they are starting to bend over and they are nice and fat.

your temps are very similar to our this week. Much more comfortable.image

Interesting about  matriarchal dna, Pat.  At my aunty Mo,s 80th birthday party, great aunt Sylvia (now 100) produced a photo of her mother, my great grandmother. Everyone remarked on how much my niece looked like her greatgreat grandmother, born 100 years apart., all female line.  I am told that personality traits wise, I am like my grandmother, my niece is like me, and nurture has nothing to do with it, as my grandmother did not bring me up, and I have little regular contact with my niece.

Morning Dove. Have you had a sleep-in today? I cant get over you still having rain. Is it never going to end?

It seems I've slept a little bit longer than usual Pat. Just had my porridge - OH makes our morning porridge and very good it is too, especially with just a smidgeon of local honey drizzled on it image

Has anyone noticed how we always get rotten weather when Hosta's away on his holidays?  I think it's cause and effect - he should stay home more then we'd have good weather image

    Ooh Pat that looks amazing!

Feeling very tired here. Our efforts for an early night failed as his lordship got up twice for things he'd forgotten to do then the wind and rain kicked in...

Then Reggie had a nightmare had 04.00 And wanted cuddles.

I'll keep the kettle on the stove for many cups of tea today!

Punkdoc: leaving puddles in the lawn, our garden is near a no go zone at the moment. I was rather hoping to be inspired as it feels a shame that no one has offered any gardening help for people affected in the North like we did those in the south. What ever happened to that? I do hope people got lovely flowers to cheer them up.

    I'm rambling.  More tea required!

yes, fidgetb, I find it intriguing, too. My mother's oldest sister is the one I'm trying to track down from my cousins, we all know that she had twins but don't yet know f or m. Because we lived a long way from Sydney, we didn't get to meet some of the 11 kids from grandma, nor their kids. So, it'll be good to get help from the various cousins who might have anecdotal information. Then, we wil be able to trace it officially.
