Chickie 1947 there were thousands of troops there in Bordon. We were near Frencham ponds and helped some in very posh houses using a bulldozer to dig fire breaks. One chap said come in lads there is tea and sandwiches, i stopped at the door, white carpet everywhere, come he said i pay people to kleen them so we did. I was there many times through the years and now there is nothing left i knew. Right about the adders though the least of our worries at the time.
Afternoon all. Not much news since my earlier posts. hubby visited our friend and he seems to be responding to the oxygen treatment to help his breathing. Don't know when he will be allowed to come home, but as his vehicle is parked conspicuously close to the entrance of the cas section, I assume he'll be released, go to his other friend to collect his dog and then drive home - a round trip of a couple of hours. I don't imagine he will ask for help - independent twit!
I think it's just the way chicky worded her post, Pauline. There were a few daft people out on that hill yesterday.Ill equipped - in jeans and dodgy footwear, no rucksacks - so no food, liquid, spare clothing etc. The kind that could easily need rescuing because of their downright stupidity, rather than a simple slip - which anyone can have when out in the current weather.
Panda - it's good to make a statement
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I've just been looking up on the Web things which might be in flower in Madeira in Feb. Definitely an antidote to the weather at the moment!
