Morning all. Wind seems to have eased but still raining and looks like it won't get light today. image

Think I'll also take some trimmings down and then leave the rest until 6th.

Hope Dove doesn't get wet through on her power walk.

Good morning all image  I finished my walk before the worst of the rain set it thank goodness KEF

Sending ((hugs)) to Fidget and all others who are having a tough time,

Verdun - glad to hear Spike's ok if a little groggy - my guess is that by 24 hours from the op he'll be much better (if a little irritated by having to wear a lampshade to stop him rubbing it).  Did you get much sleep? image

    Morning all.

Glad Spike is recovering. Did you sleep in the kitchen, Verdun?

I'll be taking my decorations down tomorrow, 12th night. Though the French leave theirs up a lot longer.

More paperwork today. Hadn't done my filing since Jan. 2010! Now up to April 2011. Hate it image Had filed the most important things like pension papers though and tax.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Our decorations will have to come down today as we've been invited out tomorrow - I usually do in on Twelfth Night so I'll leave one thing up to take down tomorrow - probably the wreath on the door. image

I thought the 12th night was the 6th image Just had my fingers out and yes it's tomorrow.

Verdun, glad Spike has got an appetite, hope you don't have to spoon feed him like I had to do one of our cats who needed to wear a lampshade. She refused to eat.

Maybe I should wear a lampshade for a few days image

Debate always rages about whether decorations should come down on the 5th or 6th. I normally do 6th - but with 5th being a Sunday this year will risk the 5th instead.

did i ever mention i was supersticious ??

tree still upright - 3 days to get through til tuesday when the treeman comes to do his stuff.

Chicky the luck you've been having I'd leave one decoration until the 6th.

I've always done the 6th, but if I count from Christmas day night it's the 5th. Whatever, I don't like taking them down. Maybe a dust sheet over the tree will be okay, to save putting it up next Christmas.

    Sound advice KEFimage

Just googled twelfth night - seems the confusion is not over whether we can count to 12, but whether the day starts at sunrise or sunset ..... All very trickyimage

Do you think we will lose the Santa smileys on Monday??image

I'd always assumed that Twelfth Night was the night of the 5th, as Twelve Days of Christmas, starting from and including the 25th takes us to the 5th - so that's what I used to do.  Then someone told me that the Twelfth Night was the 6th = 12 days after Christmas, which doesn't seem logical to me image

I will do it whenever is convenient image
