Brrr. That snow looks cold. Nice photos though.

im awake early but will no doubt allow myself to nod off again before I get up to face the day. Interesting mist rising from the dam and along the river. It's a bit cool on the shoulders.

    Have a good sleep everyone.

Hubby informed me that it is 1 degree outside - no wonder my shoulders were cool In bed. What's happened to summer!  The seasons are crazy at the moment.

Hi Jo, the morning sun is really bright today, had to pull the curtains tight. Perhaps Turner had the same problem and had to squint. Never thought of his paintings in that way before. I must admit he is one of my favourite artists. Glad you liked it.

Pat - you're quite high up though aren't you? Do you get a lot of mists because of it?

It is quite Turner-y  jo! image

Hi Fairygirl. Yes we do get them, especially when the night has been cool and the morning sun is bright and promising warmth. We're at 850m here, so not exactly high peaks, but obviously far from coastal.image

That's about the height I was today Pat - it's at 847 metres. It was around 2 degrees at the foot and was probably a few degrees below zero on the ascent. Quite mild for the time of year. No real wind which helps a lot!

Our highest hills are called Munros - mountains of 3,000 feet and over (915 metres) - named after the man who first catalogued them. 283 in total. The next ones down are called Corbetts and they're between 2,500 and 3,000 feet.

Thanks for explaining that Fairygirl. I knew about the Munros, but didn't understand about the Corbetts.  Strange that our temps seem similar at the moment. You'd think my summer and your winter would be exactly opposite. I'm expecting that my fruit trees are going to be doing strange things this summer. Hubby checked the apple trees recently and said he couldn't see any fruit coming on. I haven't been down there to check. We had horrible hot temps before Christmas, and now it's cardigan weather.

Lovely surprise for your GD, RB image

Does she know that her Gran is lusting after young, sculpted hunks on TV?....imageimage

Having a nice quiet time here - I'd hoped to get quite a bit of walking but the weather's not looking too favourable this week. Good to be out today image

He always looks slightly dangerous and smouldering, doesn't he!  I've not seen the show yet, but I sometimes wonder why females like that look. Is it something in our genetic makeup that attracts us to those types?  (Like a moth to a flame).image
