Just finished watching two episodes of Kew on a Plate with Kate and Raymond. I wish I could understand him, but the gardening and cooking was interesting,
we haven't watched any evening news broadcasts tonight, but I think I heard a quick comment when changing channels that people were allowed back to their homes that had been burnt. Tomorrow, I'll try to catch up on progress of fires - there was talk about a couple of days quiet than danger starting again, so I'll make sure to catch up.
had a long day, so ready for bed now. Hope all are ok and that the flooded areas are getting better.
Went to the supermarket, exceptionally open on a Sunday, expected crowds, but not too many there, perhaps because it was French lunchtime. Got lots of stuff to eat as family are coming on Tuesday. Daughter and son No1 are staying until 1st Jan and Daughter and son No 2 are only staying a day and a night.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
OH is asleep on the sofa.... again I'm watching M Pops it's supercalifragalisticexpalidocious I also watched the top 50 children's books, and was pleased to have read 29 of them
Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas and that you all safe and dry following the awful weather 'up north'.
Despite everyone in the family having colds at various stages we had a good family Christmas with too much food and drink.
It's been really busy with Secondborn and Partner staying with us, although we went to Firstborn's Christmas Eve and stayed until last night. Santa bought the grandchildren lots of presents which they enjoyed playing with for most of the day.
Back home now and it's very quiet as Secondborn and Partner have gone to the Lake District to stay with his parents until after New Year so we will have time to recharge our batteries. See you all later, off to get a nice cuppa and check if there are any mincepies left.
Had a grand walk in the snow and ice. Not much in the way of views higher up as the fog was from about 2000 feet. Lots of icicles. Got rid of the post holiday boredom though!
Met a young chap out with his little boy - about 6 years old - he was quite excited when I said there was plenty of snow higher up for making a snowman. I said he'd need to find something else to use for the eyes and nose as all the rocks were under the snow and ice. He said he had a Pepperami. 'Perfect' I said!
These floods are just hellish Hazel. I heard them saying they were now running out of Road Closed signs
Will have a look round here and then have some soup for dinner. Can't be bothered with much else.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
That's a pity you didn't get out jo. We have a lot of rain forecast for this week so it was probably my best chance. Hate hearing the rescue helicopter. What a wonderful job they do.
I love home made soup...
Might even have the Christmas pudding which I haven't eaten yet. Think I've done enough exercise to warrant it...
Icicles are twicicle as nicicle....
