KEF, if you can fold your legs up in the back seat you're welcome - can you bring a chainsaw?  We might need it when we go to visit Nut on Monday image

By the way, how's Mum?  Has she got over the trauma of the op now? Hopefully the improved eyesight is cheering her up image

You don't need to bring your own saw Dove, we've got 2. Both petrol so powercut no worry

I'm wondering if we're going to need one to get from MIL's to you Nut - and sister-in-law says she's popping in to see us before we leave to see you on Monday morning, after she's seen to the horses at Maxey - if you see any horses running free in the wind can you corral them somehow please, she'll be getting very stressed !!!

I'll keep an eye out for them. I wonder if this storm will be as bad as predicted. It all gets a bit over-hyped in the press.

Morning all - haircut this morning, bulb planting this afternoon.

Just read the BBC storm news and they are warning people to stay away from woodland areas.  But I live in oneimageimage

  • Hi KEF, thanks for your pics. of my 2 favourite trees. I have smaller versions each side of a wide grass path  and I can now see what a good idea that will turn out to be one day.

I agree they are both specimens and should be given a special place if you can, to appreciate them to the full. If you have loads of space a group would look even nicer. Roy Lancaster planted a group of AGs at Hillier Gardens in Hampshire... very fine.

  • Morning all.... Got a good nights kip and am feeling ok!!! Lol chicky I'm the same which reminds me I must check my home insurance to make sure it covers the garden room just incase!!!! Well my astrantia major has another bud on it!!!

Glad you're feeling rested Stacey image  My astrantias are still blooming too - it's this mild autumn.  Yes, strap down anything you have straps for image and get the torches and bottled water ready!!!  Well, that's what it says on the AA website image

We've got a wind up torch - think I'll pop it in my handbag for the journey to MIL's.

  • Well it looks like i'm off to do the food shopping first as its absolutely pouring down now. Hope I can get in the garden later.

I hope they're wrong too. We are very close to woods too. In 1987 we couldn't get out the top of out road.. we didn't have any damage as such, but we had no electricity no phone and no water.  Come to think of it this is going to make people panic buy in the supermarket this weekend!  Oh joy!
