Chicky I'm glad MrC is home and feeling OK. I'm sure he'll take it nice and steady now. Your garden festival trip sounds great. Would love to see MrB
No Fairy, don't particularly want to be here atm. We've spent the morning up ladders trying to cover the 2 x 2' gap which goes straight into the attic. Fortunately it is a bungalow as there's no way we'd go higher in this wind and rain. We've managed a kind of bandage of bird seed bags and gaffer tape. The bad news is that the fascia came away because the wood has rotted. Will get estimates next week when things are calmer.
I think I'll join those of you writing Christmas cards this afternoon with a glass of Christmas sherry at my side and hope the cards go into the right envelopes. Don't think you can still get lucky stamps anymore Fairy but MrC can peel them off the backing
Morning all you late risers Just been up to the farm shop to stock up on provisions. So much nicer than the SM
Just heard the Met Office has issued a SEVERE WEATHER WARNING FOR CUMBRIA - particularly the Keswick area - keep your heads down folks, stay indoors and stay safe. Nothing's worth getting hurt for, not even your best plants ((hugs))
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Most modern houses are held together with gaffer tape Lesley. Plus six inch nails and sealant Stay safe anyway. The road between Fort Bill and Fort Augustus won't be too clever now- and it's a helluva detour...
Hosta 'throwing shapes' - that dates you love...
More likely to throw a shoulder out these days...
Wonks - I always felt writing WW was bound to make me do another one and add ' something.com' ...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

errm the the half price offer this week is a make that rhymes with bed maker
Head shaker

Morning all.
"throwing some shapes " on the dance floor until 2am does wonders for the soul, but not for the knee. I blame the strawberry daiquiris.
Not quite 30C here forecast for today, but pretty close.
Beach beckons again.
Stay warm and dry folks.
That stumped me for a bit Lily
. Til I thought of my old friend Edward the breadmaker
. No flies on me
(or ants, either
)
Wonderful images in my head of Hosta throwing shapes
