Al those who are worried about Verdun - he is still posting on the gardening threads. Has posted today. Probably just doesn't feel like chat at the moment.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I've been outside too, taking the summer annuals out of 14 pots on the kitchen terrace and adding some fresh compost. Will plant up with pansies etc. tomorrow.

Firstly, Pdoc, you must know the best and worst of Thyroid Cancer, I won't presume to offer more than the excellent support others have voiced. Please just pop in and read back when you care to, it's the chat that often lifts my own spirits
As small consolation to the lost bracelet, I had thought my earphones ruined when I got ready for gym last week, had to resign myself to continuing with one ear, I know it's no where near as significant but my missing ear piece turned up this week after pulling on a fresh towel.stay alert to sleeves, coats, gloves etc, you never know
Don't want to be political, but that sneering little weasel of a man's standing on a building site and I've just had my porridge. Hope it stays down
Is the end in sight now W'song?
Yes Fairy! Yes! Whole of back and side wall done barring under cooker and washing machine which are free standing. I am chuffed to be honest, although it's taken time, it's pretty special, to me anyway (the world's worst critic )
As a small reward, hubby bought an espresso coffee machine which is just too ridiculously nice
So appliances are going back, details to attend to but light at the end of the tunnel
I already hinted at a spa day when this is all over (still have to lay the floor )
Off to find food, cooker still waiting for a sparky to bother showing up
Evening all, very quick visit after an very quick read back, sorry, Thursday's are my busy days.
Punkdoc, hard to keep reading your posts and not to feel down for you so can understand your reluctance to chat. Sometimes one can feel life going into free fall and so difficult to feel in controI. Thinking of you and you family and hope that things start to turn around very quickly. Big virtual hugs and support are all we can offer but I hope it helps.
Very best wishes to everyone else too, I am sure I have missed loads but have a bobble hat to knit for a snowman, dinner to dish up and then off to a PTA meeting (again).
Have a nice evening all.

Pdoc ((hugs)) bdooly hellish isn't it? But it will get better ((hugs)).
Re bracelet - Google for your nearest metal detector club and email them asking if someone could come and help search for the bracelet (of great sentimental value). They're usually a good bunch and payment by way of a bottle of something warming is usually very acceptable. Good luck
P.S. Look here http://www.symdc.co.uk/ South Yorkshire Metal Detecting Club offer a free service helping to find lost jewellery etc.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
((hugs)) for Pdoc. You will be able to provide great support for your SiL - sometimes hospital speak needs a translator/interpreter. Really hope Mrs Pdoc's bracelet turns up too - calling in the metal detectors sounds like a great idea. I was very upset when I lost one of the earrings I wore on our wedding day .....still have the other one, but it doesn't get much wear (not trendy enough to pull off the odd earring look). Keep reading, even if you're not up to posting ......we know you're there.
My favourite bit of the GW mag is from Mr T too ....but I always read it first. Instant gratification in tune with modern society. Hate phones at dinner tables too .....but did spend the day marvelling at how one tiny device could let me chat on here, chat for real, buy some Christmas pressies, show me how to get from Kings Cross to my meeting, play my music, while away some minutes with candy crush () take a couple of cheeky photos, and give me the address to write on the birthday card I needed to send. In the old days I would have needed a suitcase to carry around everything I needed to accomplish that. If only people could learn to put them away occasionally .....
