Morning all. Sewed the dogs festive stocking yesterday, he's not spoilt at all
I was meant to be working today but work up with such achy joints that even my tail aches so decided to be sensible and call in sick as there's plenty of people in.
Does mean I miss the Sheffield lights switch on though Still best to keep in the warm and rest as I've schools in all week and need my voice!
Trying to decide if I've enough in the cupboard to make a Christmas cake, I hadn't planned on doing so as I wasn't intending on being home today. Don't fancy going out to the supermarket for supplies.
Just had my sewing machine serviced Don't use it often, but wouldn't be without it. Funny - littlest Chicklet commented yesterday that she had never wanted one of the fancy Disney dressing up costumes (we were marvelling at the eye watering prices in the Disney Store) because the ones we had at home were better (mostly remodelled net curtains that I picked up in a sale from Brentford Nylons .....remember them)
Great to hear that Runny's brave lad is home .....hope he continues to improve. And bad news about Mrs Pdoc....although as others have said, maybe a silver lining will come from that cloud soon
Hello everyone. I've been reading about your freezing weather and being grateful that I'm not sharing it with you. I hope you can all find warm places to snuggle down.
Morning all - crisp and dry here too. Temp dropped to -1.7 C in the potting shed overnight so probably quite a bit colder outside. Fortunately only have some rooted penstemon cuttings in there & they are fairy dry so they will be ok.
Am about to make a large beef casserole using beef cheek & short ribs - will leave it to cook all day so should be nice and tender. Will also see if I have enough ingredients to leave to soak for Christmas pudding. OH should be home this Christmas so I'll make the effort this year.
Bet Hosta is wishing he was staying here to enjoy this wintry turn of weather - who would want to go and lie on a beach sipping cocktails when you could be fighting the mad hoards round the shops in drizzle & sleet?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Runnybeak ((hugs)) no probs - you just look after yourself - you've had an awful shock too. When your son comes to write his Victim's Statement make sure he includes the effect it's had on all his family - you are all victims of this awful event ((hugs)).
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
