That's a good thought, Liri, but I actually feel a bit sorry for them. They are such bad managers. He works in a large hardware store and is on his feet on a concrete floor all day and she works in a Dr's surgery and comes in contact with all sorts of bugs as well as having to juggle various staff tantrums, etc. They are both in their 60s and still rent rather than own their own home. She told me, last visit, that her salary just manages pay the rent because her hours have been reduced this year, and his salary is all that is left for everything else. I can't imagine how they are going to manage when they are both on the old age pension. I'm pretty sure that she doesn't prepare many of their meals, so that costs more, too, as well as being less healthy. Oh well, it's not much use worrying about them. They have to make their own choices.
Haha Steve.....I didn't forget you....you just weren't here yet! you're a night owl by nature perhaps...or could be the demanding job! Greetings anyway! how's the extension coming along?
Liri, I think the memory is added by about 20 cups of strong coffee today!.... brain was pinging off the walls! But I'm now showered with a pint of Darjeeling tea, having had a honey brandy, all pets bidding catered to and I'm turning in....the weekend can't come fast enough!
Pat, I'm sure you will enjoy their company when they come but I understand, I have friends that appreciate my cooking and eat me out of house and home, and elaborate meals aren't cheap! I have a friend that once made such a bad cup of coffee, he has never been allowed to make another!......smart fellow! ...just a thought!

Nitey nite folks....tomorrow is another day!
Dearest Wonky, I didn't feel left out, I was just stunningly impressed!
Oh and the garage conversion is 99% there, walls are painted, power now works. Sofa has arrrived at our lovely local retailer and we are awaiting news on the carpet!
I still have to prime the fishtank stand and pick a colour to paint it. Can't be doing with beech veneer...
It has been a bit of an eye opener since Wonky joined the forum - I am constantly impressed by her - she appears to be a grown up of good sense and sound judgement - how did that happen? It's not five minutes ago that she was smuggling her pet rabbit into bed with her and snuggling up with her blankie
