Hello everyone. I sort of missed yesterday's posts because Hubby was upgrading my iPadD or something like that and besides, I got a bit enthusiastic with my diet and had a bit of a set back. I never learn. Didn't feel too good, but much better today.
I've been out taking a few photos in the garden and putting more bird seed out in the feeder today.
Have been trying to read back, but only got as far as the dilemma about Pat Archer. I missed all the fun while it was going - sorry if some of you were worried. Dove would never do that, you all should know that! I've never seen the show, but it sounds interesting.
I've never heard the saying "Kerry Packered"' but I think I get the meaning - something about one day cricket perhaps? Don't follow sport on TV except cycle racing. Did you see on TV that his son James P. has taken up with that American singer who screams in a shrill voice? Can't think of name - hang on, Maria Carey. I sort of can't quite get my head around that situation, but what do I know.
you are all 10 hours behind me now, until you change on 25th. so, when our wake up, hope your weather is good to you. We're in the middle of a spring heat wave, but a cool drop expected on Wednesday.
Just remembered that today is a public holiday - might explain the slow internet if everyone in the valley is home. When I was a kid, this holiday was called "8hour day", then later it was called "labour day" and now i think it's been changed again - can't think what! It's like they changed "Armistice Day" on 11 November and now they call it Remembrance Day. And we used to have "cracker night" on 24 May which was supposed to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday. Nowadays they get a bit funny about having bonfire nights and fireworks. It's held in June now. I think I'm getting too set in my ways. Don't like change.
This upgraded thingie on the iPad is a bit difficult to get around, although I think the spell checker is a bit improved and the upper case/lower case seems better. I still need to read back before I hit the "send" button.
You can probably guess that I'm at a loose end today. it's too hot to do anything outside - I'm convinced the wind is coming directly from Ayres Rock. I checked the GH just now and even though I opened it up early, the thermometer is reading 44c. Lucky there's not much in there at the moment.
Hubby is out with his Fire Captain with chain saws clearing an overgrown fire trail in preparation for my least favourite season.
I could do some knitting, but don't feel too keen even though I have a little project on the go. My second daughter's friend has 2 year old twins and I'm making little vests for them.
HRH has been sleeping on the lounge chair for a couple of hours and I've been hard pressed to keep myself from laughing loud enough to wake her. I wish you could hear her snoring.
Spring has certainly sprung in your garden Pat - everything finishing here - I think I'll have to get the last few tomatoes in to ripen indoors - the weather's about to change - I don't know about the others, but we've certainly had the best year for tomatoes we've had in a very long time

Lovely pics Pat. The iPad update takes a bit of getting used to. The Archers is a very long running radio 'soap'. I've not listened in for years but I did know what Dove meant. Kerry Packered is rhyming slang for being very, very tired.
Wonky you've done really well to get to that stage. On the home straight now though. Just send out a call when you need a coffee
Rb - the foot is fine - until I stand on it. Very frustrating when there's lots to do.
glad Wonky will be waking up in her new home - sounds like you are nearly there now. Bit of a marathon weekend, but will be worth it when you are all settled and the garden is just outside your back door
expecting the weather to change today - too dark to see what's happening out there at the moment, but can't hear the rain yet. Hopefully it will blow itself out this week and we'll get another fine weekend. After all, there is a Forker wedding to look forward to
