Hi Lily, I don't really like mincepies, but love salted nuts & all savoury things. Problem is baggy eyes next morning, because I try not to have much salt when I do my face gives me away
Good morning all Slept like a log - have a slight headache this morning
Panda, it was the journey to London that was the problem - if I'd realised you were at Chelmsford I'd have probably got off there and come to you for a coffee and to have a calm down!!! Everything was fine on the way back so you should be fine today! The problems were all between Norwich and Colchester! Of course, that doesn't mean that there won't be some different problems today!
Mrs G, glad your son's having a good time and that you've got some good friends to support you - parents need to have a good time too.
Morning all It's a Sunday, I'm up, so must be going out!
Dove, thanks for the travel update. Any time you fancy getting off at my stop I'd be happy to provide coffee At this time of year, and on our line, anything can, and usually does, happen!
I need to get on the mince pie making trail at some point as I have a jar of mincemeat that a friend made and gave me last year. Not today though. . .
Well, OH is dressed so looks like we are off! Have a good day everyone
Morning all. Made 15L mulled wine, another 10 to go for this afternoon's carol service. The other lady who makes it is away seeing her son so twice as much to do this year. But I think I'll cut down a bit, we had some over last year. About 150 - 200 come to the service, but not all stay for the wine and mince pies. Don't want everyone getting drunk!
Have a good day out Panda.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Verd. What a lovely post from you to remind us all that Spring is just around the corner and starting with you in the corner of this land of ours. If it stops raining perhaps we can go out and have a look for a few shoots of our own.

KEF, I'm not a huge mince pie fan - I find mincemeat too sweet - but I thought I might whip up a jar or two of this to pop in some pies http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/cranberrystuddedminc_90619 - I've a feeling it'll be more to my taste
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Mince pies are nice…. mince pies and cream are dreamy….
. My wife made the best I have ever tasted… wafer thin pastry was the secret.

Shortest day of the year this week: then the daylight increases a little every day up towards Summer - what a great thought!
