  • Morning all, 2 many to reply to but have a good day whatever you are doing. Pat i managed 4 jars and tastes ok but recipe said to leave in dark cupboard for a couple of weeks? Think it improves the flavour. image. I do have a glut of chillies and i have some drying out inside my plastic greenhouse on string then hopefully i will be able to have some chillie flakes for cooking. heavy rain all night and strong winds here but the sun has came out now so time to check the damage and some weeding. image

And an itchy scratchy moring to everyone.  I just don't see how I could get bitten where I have been bitten without being a naturist (and I'm not).

On the piriton now a hairbrush handy for the bits I cant reach.

Hubby's appointment was Ok (thanks for all the good wishes).  Consultant says they have a 75% chance of sorting it out because of the length of time it has been partially detached.  Normal success rate is 85 to 95%.  Fingers crossed eh.  They will be calling him in for the op in the next week to 10 days.

Was looking forward a day of slobbing around and not doing much when Firstborn called and asked if she could drop grandchildren off this afternoon for a sleepover. Hubby doesn't know yet as he's at the gym.  I'm sure he will be really pleased when he gets backimage

It's been raining on and off for the past couple of days so haven't got much done in the garden.  However, I have just bought Christopher Lloyd's book 'Succession Planning for the Adventurous Gardener' so that should keep me occupied. Do you think the grandchildren will like that as a bedtime story instead of 'Tricky the Halloween Witch'?

One more week. Oh joys only one more week before the school holidays are over! I can't wait to get back to normality. How are all the child carers be you mums dads or grandparents coping with it all? Stevie I'm so sorry you've lost your quiet day:I guess children never see "I'm sorry I had intended on spending my day bathing in cammollie lotion and applying cold glasses of g&t to the bites" as an excuse to get out of having the grandchildren.

Having a not so relaxing day off: the dog is in the grrr books (will NOT stop chewing his poorly foot so it wont heal) and is under strict instructions to REST and STOP WALKING ON IT from the vets...

... the vets failed to tell us how you stop a puppy from bouncing all the time unfortunately (and all the stuff they tell you to use to repel the dog; yeah it turns out he LOVES the smell of TCP!)

Fortunately the neighbours are.. quite possibly demolishing their house from the inside (cue lots of dog worrying) and the sun has come out so that I can see how over grown everything is outside (it was so cold earlier I even thought THOUGHT about checking the heating still worked).

I rather wish I knew a nice country park with a lake and ice cream van nearby that we could drive over to and sit and watch the children throwing rocks at the ducks and generally making too much noise. Ironing the bedsheets doesn't have the same ring to it!

Oh well I'd best crack on with some more jobs. I hope you are all safe, happy, and well xx

Oh! The weather obviously noticed that the washing machine was nearing the end of its cycle (bedsheets) and so has gotten very dark and threatening.

So we've retreated back into the lounge where the dog is now snoozing on the sofa and I'm trying to decide whether to surprise his lordship by blitzing the house into a dream home (ha) and going and doing the shopping so we don't need to go tonight or...

... taking a nap and trying to find where I can buy a fig tree from.
